Renishaw Works, Sheffield has recently taken delivery of a new 5m x 1.8m 3 full & 2 half deck Vibrating Hot Screen from North Dean Engineering Ltd.
The site which is owned and operated by Tarmac, a CRH company, produces an average of 130kt of saleable asphalt a year which is supplied to national and local markets.
North Dean Engineering designed, manufactured and installed the new screen to replace an existing 17 year old screen. The new screen has been fitted with an innovative precision engineered shaft assembly which has been designed to give the screen more reliability and efficiency. This is particularly beneficial as the reprocessing of recycled material which leaves the dryer, can result in temperatures of up to 220º C.
Minimum disruption to site operations was achieved due to the new screen being designed to fit the existing footprint of the old screen. This resulted in no modifications being required to the existing feed & collection bunkers or front discharge chute.
Also supplied by North Dean Engineering was a full dust suppression enclosure to connect to the existing extraction system which feeds the bagging plant. Supplied complete with access doors all around to allow for ease of maintenance.
Lee Mitchell – Site Manager commented, “We chose North Dean Engineering as they had helped us keep our existing screen running when we had recurring shaft assembly issues. They offered a competitive price with a bespoke solution along with their extensive asphalt screen knowledge and experience”.
